The BRYC Smack 14s boys competed in the 34th Boys Junior National Championships held in Reno, Nevada from June 28th through July 1st and took on teams from all across the country! They performed admirably taking 2nd in the bronze division for an overall 14th place finish out of 32 teams. Most impressive was that they finished 2nd of all East Coast teams to only perennial power Pace Rochester and 6th of all the non-California teams. An outstanding finish to a great season!
More impressive than the finish was their style of play and their tenacity. Out of the 11 best of 3 set matches that the team played 8 of them went the full 3 sets with the BRYC Boys winning 5 of those matches. They were complimented by several opposing coaches on their defensive style. ability to control the ball and their "never say die" attitude!
Congratulations to the boys and coach Vic for an outstanding season!
